Ireland Betting Favourites for Six Nations Championship Glory

Ireland are red hot 1/6 favourites with Paddy Power to take another step towards Six Nations Championship glory with a victory in Rome on Sunday. The bookies expect Kidney’s XV to win by a cosy 12 points.

“We may have struggled against Italy last year, but judging by the way punters are backing Ireland the Italians should be afraid, very afraid”, a spokesperson for the bookmaker commented.

Tommy Bowe and Luke Fitzgerald are the most likely of the Irish to score the game’s first try despite neither crossing the line in the win over France.

Of the tryscorers in that famous game, Brian O’Driscoll and Gordon D’Arcy are both 12/1 and Jamie Heaslip is 16/1 to score first.

In the other games Wales are 1/4 favourites to beat England while Scotland can expect a vengeful France who are a raging hot 1/10 to put the Scots to the sword.

The high flying Irish team have seen their odds slashed from 3/1 to 2/1 to win the Six Nations, they remain second favourites behind reigning champions Wales at 5/4.

Paddy Power is offering every new customer a free bet at the moment. Bettors from the United States are not allowed at this time.
